SARASOTA HERLAD TRIBUNE….Public art is supposed to incite discussion and a strong reaction, but a mural that appeared recently on a north Sarasota business set off criticism over what some perceived as an improper gang-related message in a minority neighborhood.

The image in question, painted this month as part of a project wrapping up the Sarasota Chalk Festival, shows two hands reaching down with twisted fingers in a gang-related gesture with the words “fast life” spelled out (tattoo) on the fingers.

The provocative black, white and red painting appears on the wall of the Tube Dude plant at 1001 Central Ave Sarasota Fl. in a mixed-use industrial neighborhood between the Rosemary District and the majority black Newtown community.

“FAST LIFE”  A lifestyle that will land you dead or in jail at any given moment. There are many different ways to live the fast life. These include drug dealing, robbing, gang banging or prostituting your body for money. The fast life is often a perilous career path for hustlers who make money fast in the streets. Consequently, fast life hustlers that make it to old age without being imprisoned, crippled or killed is rare because negative actions have negative consequences. 

Living fast is also usually correlated with consistent heavy long-term drug and alcohol abuse and sexual promiscuity. People who live the fast life often lack morals, so they consistently choose to engage in dangerous, reckless activity that endangers their own well-being and safety as well of others.

For gang members tattoos are a way of both asserting membership in the gang and flaunting their lack of membership in straight society. For this reason, street gang members will often get tattoos on their hands (SEE PHOTO ABOVE) and faces so as to permanently bar them from being a part of normal society. The larger and more prominent the tattoo, the harder it is to hide, the more impressive it is to other gang members. For this reason, two of the most widespread gang tattoos are often found on the most visible parts of the body: the hands (SEE PHOTO ABOVE) and the face.

BLOODS GANG-HAND SIGN, “Throwing up” a gang sign (e.g., “Stacking,” “walk”) with the hands is one of the most known and obvious forms of “claiming.” It is used in many situations where other identifiers may not be possible or appropriate, and it can also show that a gang member is in the area to “do business” as opposed to just passing through.

Times have changed. Many gangs have learned that dressing in clothing that may identify them as a gang member may easily bring them to the attention of law enforcement. Thus, gang clothing, while still worn by many gang members, is not as prevalent as it once was.

 

Gang hand signs are used by street gangs and some prison gangs, as a silent language to communicate with others and unless the hand signs are used in front of the law enforcement officer, there may not be any other indication that the person is a gang member.

Gang hand signs are frequently used as a means of identifying gang members with other gang members and each gang has their own gang hand signs that they use to show allegiance to their gang or to disrespect (dis) rival gang members.

ORLANDO Police Chief Calls Dale Smith Jr Ex-Fiance of Michelle Parker Prime Suspect #1 in Her Case, Dale Smith Is So Bad The Marines Dumped Him.

Orlando Sentinel 5:22 p.m. EST, November 28, 2011 Orlando police Chief Paul Rooney just announced that the former fiance of missing Geneva mother Michelle Parker is the only suspect in her disappearance.

Dale Smith Jr. is the last person known to have seen Parker before she vanished Nov. 17. Parker’s mother at a news conference with Rooney revealed that Smith would not take a police lie-detector test.

“We had to look at every aspect of the case before we could come out publicly and state that Mr. Smith is our primary focus,” Rooney said. “He is our primary suspect,” he added. “There are no other suspects that I am aware of as Orlando police chief.”

ORLANDO, Fl. – The Orlando police department’s swat team raided a home on Rose Boulevard in Orlando Saturday night in the search for missing mom Michelle Parker, MyFoxOrlando.com reports.

Property records show a Dale W. Smith sr., age 64, owns the house, who sources confirm is the father of Parker’s ex-fiancé, who is also named Dale W. Smith jr. age 40.

Dale W. Smith jr. DOB 6/28/1971 the ex fiance of missing Orlando Mom Michelle Parker appears to have lived the ‘thug’ life. The Orange County Clerk’s Office has records of multiple violent felony charges for Dale W. Smith jr. DOB 6/28/1971.

 

Michelle Parker sought a restraining order from Dale W.Smith jr., DOB 06/28/1971, in 2009, but was denied for lack of evidence. ABC News also learned that Dale W. Smith jr. was dishonorably discharged from the Marines in 2003 following a string of court martials, including military convictions for drug possession and domestic battery.

Cops Say: Church of Scientology Cross Necklace That Missing Orlando Mom Michele Parker Wore May Be Key Evidence.

WFTV-9— A picture of a 33-year-old missing mother of three wearing a cross necklace was released on Wednesday, and Orlando police said the necklace may be a key piece of evidence in the case.Michelle Parker went missing on Thursday hours after an episode of “The People’s Court” aired where she appeared with her ex-fiance, Dale Smith, to argue about an engagement ring.

Parker’s family confirmed to police that she was wearing the same cross necklace at the time of her disappearance. Police said the necklace may be a key piece of evidence, and if anyone has found the necklace or has information, they should contact CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS.

TIMELINE THURSDAY NOV. 17TH, 2011[
3:15 p.m.: Video surveillance in an east Orange County neighborhood captured Michelle Parker driving to Dale Smith Jr.’s home to drop off their 3-year-old twins. Just minutes before she arrived, Parker and Smith, her ex-fiance, appeared in a previously taped episode of the “The People’s Court” during which they argued about a lost $5,000 engagement ring.

She was wearing a silver-cross necklace, see above — a detail revealed Wednesday — jeans and a Florida Gator’s zip-up hoodie.

•4:26 p.m.: Parker’s brother, Dustin Erickson, received a text message from his sister’s iPhone suggesting that she was in the Waterford Lakes area, also on the county’s east side.

8 p.m.: Parker’s iPhone ‘pinged’ in the area of Oak ridge Road near Belle Isle, more than seven miles from where she was last seen. Her phone was powered down in that area and has not been recovered.

The next day, police found Parker’s H3 Hummer in the parking lot of Walden Palms Apartments, 4700 Walden Circle. Decals for her Glow mobile-tanning business had been removed from the windows. From there, the trail has gone cold.

Five Petite Blonde Haired Women Abducted From 400 Mile Radius in Southern Midwest, In Late 1960′s The Zodiac Killer Often Travelled Over 400 Miles.

Does history repeat itself? In the late 1960′s the Zodiac Killer traveled from Napa, CA near San Francisco to Riverside, CA near Los Angeles and then back to the San Francisco area a distance of over 470 miles one way, to commit some of his crimes.

The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who operated mostly in Northern California in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The killer’s identity remains unknown. Four men and three women between the ages of 16 and 29 were targeted.

Numerous suspects have been named by law enforcement and amateur investigators, but no conclusive evidence has surfaced. Bates’ possible connection to the Zodiac only appeared four years after her murder when San Francisco Chronicle reporter Paul Avery received a tip regarding similarities between the Zodiac killings and the circumstances surrounding Bates’ death.

At the time of the murder Lee Allen was a school teacher in Calaveras County, Cal. — about 400 miles away. But nearly every weekend he traveled to Riverside where he was a car club member. On the Monday following Bates’ murder, Allen did not go to work. If Allen did commit the murder, he might have needed to allow time for scratches on his face to heal.

On November 9th,  I had a heart breaking conversation with one of the mothers of the five pretty blonde women who have been kidnapped, that’s right kidnapped, from Dyersburg TN, Fairfield OH, Bloomington IN, Darden TN, and Florence KY. It appears that the families of the missing women, Karen Swift, Holly Bobo, Lauren Spierer, Paige Johnson and Kate Markham are in the dark about any leads in thier cases from the cops.

 

From information in the conversation today with the mother of one of the kidnapped pretty blonde females it appears that there is only one FBI agent working her case, what the hell ? How do you tell the FBI to “connect the dots”.

 

SEX PREDATOR PROFILE..Look for a white male, 5′ 10″ to 6′ 0″ tall and over 200 lbs, he will be 38 to 59 years old, he works in a construction related business, he is on the road very early in the morning 3:00 am to 7:00 am, he is familiar with the four state area of Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana, possibly delivers construction materials, he would have served prison time, possibly in Kentucky, for violent sex crimes on young females.

 

The perp would drive a large van or box truck, he would be familiar with police procedures, he would discard the victims cell phone and battery, he would not use the victims credit or debit cards, no electronic trace, he would remove his victims from the area. The perp could be operating out of the Louisville KY area, central to all five kidnappings.

TV’s “Blue Bloods” Soft Pedals Murder of NYPD Undercover Philip Cardillo At Muslim Nation of Islam Mosque No. 7, Was Frank Serpico Involved.

NYPD Cops are seething at the CBS drama “Blue Bloods” for including a scene that reworked one of the NYPD’s darkest chapters, without acknowledging the violent death of an officer and the fact that his murderers were allowed to flee.

NYPD Officer Philip Cardillo was fatally wounded April 14, 1972, after answering a fake 911 call of a cop in trouble inside Nation of Islam Mosque No. 7 at 102 W. 116th St. New York NY, this was a set up.

What was the deal why was a an undercover cop lured into the Nation of Islam Mosque No. 7, was he working drug dealers or gun runners and they found out he was cop? 

From the photo at the top of the post, the undercover cop with the beard and the .38 special in his right hand looks like Frank Serpico legendary undercover New York City police detective.

Officer Cardillo died on April 20, and there were never any convictions in the case. In the Nov. 4 episode of the cop drama “Blue Bloods”, a similar scene was filmed in the same mosque — only instead of the officer dying, he was simply knocked out cold.

 

The Muhammad Mosque No. 7 which is the local headquarters of the Nation of Islam, has a historically contentious relationship with the NYPD, and was the site of a lethal standoff on April 14, 1972 that left the police officer Cardillo dead.

 

 

Officer Philip Cardillo was killed in a standoff with Nation of Islam members while responding to a phony 911 call from the mosque, which claimed another officer was trapped inside, undercover cop Philip Cardillo was set up.

 

In August 2010, An NYPD detective invited to a community meeting about concerns of police brutality was refused entry into Harlem Nation of Islam Mosque No. 7 because he refused to relinquish his badge and his gun, police said. 

 

Det. Martin Brown, of NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly’s liaison unit, arrived at the Nation of Islam’s No. 7 Mosque in time for Friday’s community meeting, only to be greeted by organizers who informed him that his weapon and shield were not welcome inside.  “Det. Brown was invited to the mosque but refused to comply with the request that he enter without his weapon or shield,” NYPD spokeswoman Kim Royster said. 

 

 “Hell, I would not walk into that Nation of Islam Mosque No. 7 rat hole without a sidearm and a loaded 12 guage shotgun!”

Holly Bobo & Lauren Spierer Missing: Cops Don’t Believe Cases Are Connected But Cops Have No Answers For Families Months Later.

Law enforcement officials say they don’t believe there’s any connection between two missing women’s cases - Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo who was abducted in April 2011 and Indiana fashion student Lauren Spierer who vanished in June 2011.

In a Crime Scene USAblog post of June 29 the writer talks about the similarities of these two cases – of two beautiful, young, blonde, petite women in the prime of their lives. 

The blog post states the similarities are chilling. A student at the university where Lauren attended classes before she vanished said they look so much alike he thought a photo he saw of Holly on a flyer was Lauren, see photo above.

I have a person of interest (POI), his name is James E. Gunterman and he is a wanted on the run sex predator out of Louisville KY with 19 counts of sex abuse on pre-teen petite white females.

NEWS Terror – US…In the lead-up to one of the busiest travel weeks of the year, a new intelligence bulletin obtained by Fox News warns that terrorists have targeted bus networks more than any other mode of surface transportation. The two page assessment, sent to law enforcement in the nation’s capital, says in part, “bus systems are considered attractive terrorist targets because they are relatively soft targets (TMZ Tour Bus).”

The bulletin, called “Terrorist Concerns Regarding Mass Transit Bus Systems,” was sent to law enforcement in the nation’s capital on Nov 3. It says bus attacks, similar to an attack by a suicide bomber using an explosive-laden backpack in 2005, are more widespread than attacks on the airline industry. The assessment says over 725 such attacks have been documented from 2004 through 2009. 

Pistole said the intelligence was sent to local partners to reinforce the view that terrorists are not fixated on aircraft. “We actually reissued not just bus but mass transit [bulletins], just being cognizant of what goes on around the world as we enter the busy holiday season,” he said. Fox News has also learned that intelligence obtained from Usama bin Laden’s compound shows he even considered using buses to attack Americans, by ramming the buses into buildings

TBI Steps Up Search For Missing Dyersburg Mom Karen Swift, Look Hard For Sexual Predator “Big Jim” Gunterman.

ABC 24 NEWS, DYERSBURG, TN (abc24.com) – The TBI is stepping up efforts to find a missing Dyersburg woman Karen Swift who disappeared nearly two weeks ago. Now investigators are bringing in heavy duty equipment to help with the search. “As far as releasing that, we can’t afford to do that. It’ll jeopardize the investigation,” Sheriff Box tells abc24.com.

“I think every day we’re closer, and we’re not getting discouraged,” says Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box.  Dyer County investigators are holding out hope as they gather needed clues into the disappearance of Karen Swift. The only real clue so far, is Swift’s car.

 “There’s nothing to indicate a struggle. No blood,” says the sheriff.  The car was found about a mile from Swift’s home. Detectives did find clothes inside. Those items were sent to the Tennessee State Crime Lab for review. Investigators are also looking over Swift’s phone records. 

 Box did say one of the last people Karen Swift was in touch with before she disappeared was her teenage daughter. She sent a text message to her mom saying, “Mom come get me.” Authorities say Karen Swift picked up her daughter from a Halloween party. According to investigators, they arrived home between 1:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. Sunday, October 30th. Later that morning, Karen Swift was gone.

 “It’s really weird. We really worry,” says neighbor Brad Fuller.  Fuller has good reason to be worried. Theresa Gross, Holly Bobo, and now Karen Swift, are three West Tennessee women who vanished this year without a trace.  “It’s awfully weird,” says Fuller. “Three women come up missing. No one’s seen them, no one heard from them, and they vanished like they got picked up off the Earth.”  If you have any information about Karen Swift call the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office at 731-285-2802.

UPDATE…Disabled mom Theresa Gross found safe Feb 2nd 2011, Investigators say a Memphis police officer found Theresa Gross, a disabled, she wears a leg brace, mother of three who had been missing for nearly a week, Theresa Gross was listed as 5’11″ and 180 lbs. The 42-year-old went missing on Jan. 29, after telling her family members she was on her way to Millington’s Haystack Bar on Hwy. 51.
