Both of these women are at the top of their trade, Sofia Vergara, 40, with her “Modern Family” blockbuster situation comedy on ABC and Lisa Guerrero, 48, the Chief Investigative Correspondent for “Inside Edition’s” award-winning I-Squad. Lisa Guerrero has been with the show since 2006. Both women, Sofia Vergara and Lisa Guerrero have been named on various FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women In The World lists over the last 10 years (USA).

 Sofia Vergara’s curvaceous 5′ 7″ figure was discovered by a photographer, whilst at the beach, and this led to various jobs in modeling and television. At age 23, she was a runway model. From 1995 to 1998, she co-hosted a travel show, “Fuera de serie” (1995), which gave her exposure in the United States. As of July 18, 2012, Vergara was the highest-earning woman in U.S. television, taking in $19 million for the past 12 months on a list released by Forbes.com.

 Lisa Guerrero is an award winning American investigative journalist, actress, former sportscaster, host and model. Lisa Guerrero began her show-business career in the 1980s as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams, after which she became Entertainment Director for the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots. Lisa Guerrero’s curvaceous 5′ 8″ figure was first seen when she posed for the January 2006 issue of Playboy.

Lisa Guerrero is currently the Chief Investigative Correspondent for Inside Edition, working on undercover stories and investigative reports. In 2011 she won the National Headliner Award for Best Investigative Report, beating out Anderson Cooper for her undercover expose on air duct cleaning scams. Lisa was also nominated for a Prism Award for her story on the dangers of alcohol and boating, as well as a Genesis Award nomination for her investigation into horse slaughter farms in Florida. She is a frequent guest on CNN Headline News and E!.

Among the many, many talents of Lisa Guerrero are a blog for the Los Angeles Times sports section and the Huffington Post, producer of the the independent film A Plumm Summer with her baseball star husband Scott Erickson. Sofia Vergara, July 31st, 2012: The current issue of Forbes shows a more serious photo of the normally seductive and funny Colombian actress Sofia Vergara. The headline, “The Next Media Jackpot,” declared that the war is on for the $1 trillion Hispanic market.  Vergara, one of the stars of “Modern Family,” earned an estimated $19 million last year, making her the highest paid actress on television today—not despite the fact that she’s a Latin American with an accent, but because she is. She has concocted the secret sauce to reach across demographics. She has also made it clear that Hispanics want to move beyond cliché telenovellas and typecasting as maids or hookers.

 
ABC (the network that airs “Modern Family”) and Univision know this. That’s why they are teaming up to create an English language cable channel aimed at Latinos. It’s a brilliant idea. If it’s done correctly, marketers will be able to successfully target not only the large English-speaking Latino population but also the young Latino population.
