NYPD On high alert for Times Square dirty bomb strike near the upcoming 9/11 twelfth Anniversary as Al-Qaeda wanna-be’s Boston Bombers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev had targeted Times Square so did car bomber Faisal Shahzad and subway suicide bomber Najibullah Zazi.  Times Square, the crossroads of the world, could come to a grinding halt at various times near the twelfth anniversary of 9/11, because for the NYPD, Times Square has become the ground zero for terror threats. The NYPD will be on high alert for another attempt to explode a bomb in Times Square, and the intelligence suggests it could be a dirty bomb.

Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, top, reportedly told authorities that he and his deceased brother Tamerlan planned to attack Times Square in New York City.
Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, top, reportedly told authorities that he and his deceased brother Tamerlan planned to attack Times Square in New York City in April 2013. NYPD Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Dzhokhar Tsarnaev told interrogators from his hospital bed that he and his older brother had decided spontaneously to drive to  Times Square New York City and detonate their remaining explosives – a pressure-cooker bomb like the ones that blew up at the marathon, plus five pipe bombs.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, in photo above 4th from left with the hoodie, had travelled to Times Square NYC in April 2012 with some of his pals in the center strip in front of TGI Friday’s in the 1500 block of Broadway Times Square near 46th Street, none of the others pictured above are suspected of being involved in the Tsarnaevs’ plot. The Times Square bomb plot fell apart after the Tsarnaev brothers were intercepted by police in a stolen car in Boston and got into a fierce gun battle that left Tamerlan Tsarnaev dead, NYPD boss Ray Kelly said.

Faisal Shahzad the suspect in the failed Times Square bombing pleaded guilty on June 21st 2010, an abrupt and expedited end to a terrorism case that extended to Pakistan and an Islamic militant group there. Mr. Shahzad recounted how and why he conceived the plot, traveling to Pakistan in 2009, joining the Taliban and receiving training in how to construct a bomb. ”I want to plead guilty, and I’m going to plead guilty 100 times over,” he said, ”because until the hour the U.S. pulls its forces from Iraq and Afghanistan, and stops the drone strikes in Somalia and Yemen and in Pakistan, and stops the occupation of Muslim lands, and stops killing the Muslims, and stops reporting the Muslims to its government, we will be attacking the U.S. (and Times Square NYC), and I plead guilty to that.”
Najibullah Zazi and the other would-be suicide bombers had targeted the Subway station in Times Square at 42nd Street. Their sole objective in September 2009 was to kill as many straphangers as possible  in simultaneous attacks on the East Side local out of Grand Central  Terminal and the West Side local and express out of Times Square, the  Daily News reported.
The Zazi terror plot included plans to use three suicide bombers to hit subways in Times Square in addition to trains going in and out of Grand Central Station.  Subways on the West Side of Manhattan in addition to the East Side might have been targeted and officials said the suspects hoped to strike both lines during rush hour.  Law enforcement officials confirmed to NBC that Zazi and his cohorts planned to enter the subways at the Times Square and Grand Central stations. Investigators said with bombs in backpacks or strapped to their bodies, they would choose crowded trains along the 1, 2, 3, and 4,5, 6 lines.
