Missing Jabez Spann’s Granny Tillery Says Jabez Came to Her in Dream with Water Everywhere and Face all Messed Up Did Cops Check Whitaker Bayou

Sunday January 28th, 2018

The Sarasota Police Department, FBI Tampa Division and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is now offering a $50,000 reward for information about the disappearance of Jabez Spann, 14. This is an increase from the reward issued on October 10, 2017. Anyone with information is asked to call Sarasota Crime Stoppers at 941-361-TIPS (8477) or 911. An updated reward poster is attached. Jabez Spann has been missing since September 4, 2017. He was last seen in the area of 22nd Street in Sarasota wearing a turquoise shirt. Jabez is a black male, 5’09” and 120 pounds.

SARASOTA FL: I just don’t believe he’s alive” Lucille Tillery shakes her head. Missing Teen Jabez Spann’s Grandma Lucille Tillery Says Jabez Came to Her in a Dream with Water Everywhere and his Face all Messed Up, Did Cops Check Nearby Whitaker Bayou in Sarasota Fl. He came to me in a dream,” she says. “It looked like water everywhere and his face was all messed up.. Granny Tillery’s dream could be a reality, Jabez Spann has been missing for over 3 months, no sign of him anywhere, no body or indication of a body.

If Jabez Spann had been kidnapped on or about on September 4th, 2017 due to him witnessing the murder of Travis Combs in Newtown and if he came to grave and mortal consequences, the kidnappers would have wanted to hide his body, most likely they would have dumped the body in a field, this is not the case. Possibly Jabez Spann’s kidnappers put his body in the water to hide the evidence, possibly in nearby Whitaker Bayou which has some pretty steep embankments going north from the bridge over MLK Blvd in Newtown as it runs parallel to Cocoanut Ave, very difficult to get down to the water to search.

Jabez Spann’s Grandma Lucille Tillery Says Jabez Came to Her in a Dream with Water Everywhere and his Face all Messed. Since all of the ‘on the ground searches’ for Jabez Spann have resulted in absolutely nothing, the next logical area to search, since we live in an area near or on the water, would be to search waterways that are easy to approach with a car from lets say, N Orange Ave and MLK Blvd. I do not believe we are dealing with criminal masterminds in the possible kidnapping of Jabez Spann, the bad guys that took Jabez would have done what they thought they needed to do to keep Jabez quiet and then would have been in a hurry to get rid of any evidence.
There is a bridge over the far end of Whitaker Bayou in the 1200 Block of Martin Luther King Blvd in Newtown, it is only a 3 min ride from where Jabez Spann went missing on or near 23rd Street to this bridge. Whitaker Bayou runs North East from the Gulf of Mexico parallel to Panama Dr and up to Dr Martin Luther King Jr Park and under the bridge on MLK Blvd in Newtown and then somewhat further North up and under Myrtle Ave alongside Cocoanut, see map click here, just sayin.

Whitaker Bayou from the bridge at MLK Blvd near Dr Martin Luther King Jr Park going North narrows down considerably and becomes very still and stagnant, the sides of the Bayou become very steep and high at this juncture, very difficult to get down to the water, but easy to throw something in. A bayou is a body of water typically found in a flat, low-lying area, and can be either an extremely slow-moving stream. The term bayou can also refer to a creek whose current reverses daily due to tides and which contains brackish water highly conducive to fish life and plankton. Bayous are commonly found in the Gulf Coast region of the southern United States, like Whitaker Bayou in Sarasota. A bayou is frequently an a branch or minor braid of a braided channel that is moving much more slowly than the main stem, often becoming boggy and stagnant. Though fauna varies by region, many bayous are home to frogs, toads, American alligators, turtles, spoonbills, snakes, leeches, and many other species.

Jabez Spann was reported missing by his grandma Lucille Tillery on September 5th 2017 when he did not return from the previous night. On September 9th Hurricane Irma blew through the Sarasota area uprooting trees, blowing debris everywhere and downing power lines. If Jabez Spann’s kidnappers did cause him harm and did dispose of his body, say in Whitaker Bayou north of the MLK Blvd Bridge, they had the perfect cover for their crime as now Whitaker Bayou north of the MLK Blvd Bridge is a mess with layers and layers of debris covering everything at the bottom of the tree lined banks, see photo above.
DECEMBER 13th, 2017 SARASOTA HERALD TRIBUNE ARTICLE For the first time since she moved into the Newtown neighborhood 13 years ago, this year there are no Christmas decorations on Lucille Tillery house. Instead, hanging in the yard, from a wire clothesline with a frizzled bit of silver garland at the top, is a boy’s sports jersey. Burgundy, with a white #3. It belongs to Jabez Spann, the grandson Tillery raised from infancy, who has been missing now for more than three months after allegedly witnessing a murder. On August 28th Travis Combs was shot and killed on 22nd Street in Newtown Sarasota, Jabez lived 453 feet away on 23rd Street in direct line of sight.

I just don’t believe he’s alive,” Lucille Tillery shakes her head. “I got that eerie feeling. It making me sick on the inside. I know my baby. He’d a tried to get away. He’d a called. It’s like he fell off the face of the earth.” “I know somebody in this neighborhood knows something and they ain’t telling,” Tillery says with conviction “Don’t nobody get along in Newtown. If you ain’t been born here, you’re nobody.” He came to me in a dream,” she says. “It looked like water everywhere and his face was all messed up...” She breaks off. The worst, of course, is the not knowing.

Wednesday, September 27, 2017 Does Murder of Travis Combs Link to Disappearance of Teen Jabez Spann in Newtown Fl, FBI Takes over case. Anyone with information on the case to call Detective Kim Laster at 941-364-7327 or Sarasota Crime Stoppers

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) – October 4th, 2017 The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed that it is helping in the search for Jabez Spann. The Sarasota teen vanished without a trace on Labor Day. A spokeswoman said the FBI is assisting state and local law enforcement partners in this investigation. 3 months later, Spann’s family, friends are still searching and spreading word of the 14-year-old’s disappearance as detectives try to figure out the exact circumstances that led to it. The Sarasota Police Department says it is not ruling out foul play in the case, but has not received any indication that Jabez was injured. Anyone with information about Spann’s whereabouts can contact the Sarasota Police Department at 941-316-1201 or Sarasota Crime Stoppers by calling 941-361-8477, or by going online at www.sarasotacrimestoppers.com.

UPDATE: September 29th, 2017, Let’s get real here, my article here is in NO WAY disparaging of missing teen Jabez Spann who as by all accounts is the all-American kid, football player, good student, on the straight and narrow and not deserving of what apparently has happened to him. I have been a licensed private investigator in Sarasota Fl for over 22 years, I am well aware as to what goes on. My article is published in the attempt to produce any leads that I could pass onto the Sarasota Police Department (SPD).

Do you believe in the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy or just plain old coincidences, well I don’t especially when it involves a missing teen who just happened to live a 2 minute walk from where a guy involved with the sale of drugs in Newtown was found dead (most likely shot). SARASOTA — The death of Travis Combs whose body was found Monday, August 28, 2017 is now being called a homicide.
